What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Dog Groomer Apprentice, you’ll start with hands-on support and training from day one. You’ll learn everything you need to know to become a certified groomer while helping care for dogs and making them look and feel their best!

You’re not afraid to get a little dirty, wet, or sweaty. Grooming isn't always glamorous, but it's always rewarding.
You enjoy keeping your workspace clean and organized.
You have a track record of finishing projects (any type – doesn't have to be grooming-related).
You’re passionate about animal care and the bond between pets and people.
You’re okay with the less glamorous side of the job (yes, this includes dealing with feces, urine, and a LOT of fur).

What to Expect:

Physical Demands:

You’ll need to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Be prepared for bending, stooping, and reaching while grooming dogs in various positions.

Work Environment:

It’s a salon, so things can get noisy and sometimes stressful for our furry clients. You’ll need to manage the hustle and bustle while keeping the dogs calm and comfortable.

Compensation:

Starting hourly wage: $16-$20 (plus tips and a weekly lunch stipend).

The training period lasts 3 to 6 months—after which, merit-based raises will lead you to a full-time groomer position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
