The Dog Groomer position requires:
- At least one year of grooming experience or graduation from a grooming school
- Knowledge of dog behavior, care standards, and tool and equipment handling
- Strength to lift up to 70 pounds; stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Reliable Transportation
- Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
Task:
- Trim to Scenthound Standards
- Focused on functional trims, our 5 types of haircuts consist of one length all-over with a neat face
- Create and environment conducive to learning, open communication, and teamwork
- Identify when/where help is needed and provide assistance to keep Scenter on schedule
- Ensure the safety of our dogs and team members at all times
- Adhere to Scenthound sanitary and cleaning best practices
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning for dogs of various breeds.
- Assess each dog's health and behavior to ensure safe handling during grooming sessions.
- Communicate with pet owners about their dog's grooming needs and provide recommendations for care.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge in pet care and grooming techniques.
- Perform other task and duties as assigned by the Scenter Manager
Who We Are Looking For:
We are searching for a confident dog groomer with loves to work with dogs! You are someone that is knowledgeable, perceptive, patient, empathetic and a compassionate team player ready to join our amazing team! An individual with a take charge attitude, and an interest in all things leadership and training is a plus. Proven experience in pet grooming or related field is preferred.
