The heart of this approach is our Enrichment Dog Daycare program. We also offer dog services like dog boarding, baths, grooming, merchandise, training, and more. Everything to help you and your pup live fully.

We have invested in a state-of-the-art grooming salon which features: natural light, climate control, music, and the latest tools in grooming. Dogs are de-stressed by the experience. Our current salon staff love the plentiful workspace around one of our four tables.
Role Responsibilities: Responsible for the grooming of day care dogs as well as outside clientele. Your role is to provide the best possible grooming experience for the pet in a manner that absolutely delights the owner, and drives repeat business. As our business grows so does yours.
Approximately 80% of your time will be standing on your feet bathing, brushing, drying, clipping and generally grooming dogs, 10% will be scheduling grooms, communicating with owners, and receiving and releasing dogs, 10% is spent on general cleaning of the grooming area, doing grooming associated laundry, etc.
Professional Grooming Experience is required. A strong desire to grow, reliability, and building relationships with our clientele are key.
This is a Contract (1099) position. Pay is 50/50 Commission plus 100% tips. No cap on
commission. Pay schedule is twice a month.
BONUS: Bring your book of clients with you for 75/25 Commission plus the
first six months.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Fully understanding what the pet parent wants in the groom. Counseling and offering
- alternatives as appropriate.
- Discussing grooming requests and pricing with customers.
- Establishing a trusting relationship with both the pet parent and the pup.
- Promoting retail sales and cross selling all services offered at our facility.
- Scheduling grooms.
- Bathing, trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing, blow-drying, clipping, shaving, and
- Expressing anal glands.
- Maintaining grooming records.
- Growing your clientele. Canvassing and promoting grooming at Central Bark.
- Attending weekly puppy hour, seminars, and trade shows to promote Central Bark.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Dog handling skills are essential. Skills may be in the form of pet ownership, previous pet ownership, working with animals and attending dog training and/or behavior seminars. Training sessions and seminars may be scheduled during non-working hours where your attendance may be required. Grooming experience may be in the form of a formal Grooming Degree or of gained working experience as an apprentice to an established groomer.
Physical Skills: Ability to perform a variety of demanding physical activities, including lifting a minimum of 60 pounds (whether it is a bag of dog food, a crate, or a dog), and standing for long periods of time. Grasping, pinching and pulling skills are also needed to leash and collar dogs as well as control them as well as the repeated motions associated with grooming dogs. Health: It is required that all Groomers are current on their Tetanus vaccination and recommended they are current on a Rabies vaccination.
Language Skills: Ability to read dog information including names, medication and feeding instructions, and grooming instructions. Be able to effectively communicate dog issues with management either via written or oral communication. Be able to maintain a clear record of grooms performed. The ability to communicate in American Standard English using proper structure and grammar in both written and verbal communications is required.
Mathematical Skills: Basic measuring and counting abilities as related to cleaning, medications, feedings or counting change back to customers.
Computer Skills: A basic understanding of Mac based applications is required.
Transportation: Must have a valid drivers license and dependable vehicle.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, analyze emergencies and think on your feet.
Ability to deal rationally with irrational customers.
Compensation: Your individual grooming revenue will be split 50/50 off the top with the store.
