Job Title: Pet Stylist

Reports To: Salon Grooming Manager

Summary

The Pet Stylist is responsible for providing professional grooming services to clients while maintaining Paw Commons Pet Resort’s high standards of care and service. This role involves overseeing daily grooming operations, delivering excellent customer service, training team members, and ensuring the safety and well-being of animals in our care. The position supports sales goals by recommending additional services and collaborating with other departments to create a seamless client experience.

Qualifications

Experience:

Advanced grooming experience is required, including unsupervised grooming with consistently high ratings.
Experience in customer service or sales in a pet care setting is preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Advanced grooming skills and knowledge of breed standards.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent customer service skills, including upselling services and rebooking clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, MS Forms, Teams) and familiarity with Gingr software (training provided).
Ability to provide effective coaching and feedback to team members.
Dependability and flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, and occasional stooping, crouching, or bending may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Grooming Operations:

Perform grooming services to the highest standards, ensuring pet safety and comfort.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe grooming environment, including properly maintaining tools and equipment.

Customer Service

Provide exceptional service by upselling grooming and additional resort services.
Offer accurate cost estimates and tailored recommendations to meet client needs.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through rebooking and consistent service quality.

Animal Care

Address the care of sick or injured animals promptly and professionally, communicating concerns to clients and management.

Training And Development

Assist in training new hires and existing team members on grooming techniques, workflow processes, and best practices.
Monitor performance milestones and provide constructive feedback to support team growth.

Collaboration And Communication

Communicate challenges and opportunities related to animal care, staffing, and tools with the Salon Manager.
Leverage knowledge of additional facility services, such as training, lodging, and daycare, to provide comprehensive recommendations to clients.

Sales And Goals

Consistently meet or exceed sales targets by upselling services and providing exceptional client experiences.

Operational Support

Track and document daily grooming performance, including client feedback and any issues.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, including proper handling of tools and animals.

Commitment And Compensation

Full-Time: 32–40 hours per week
Part-Time: Under 32 hours per week
Participation in employee tips and commissions
Medical/Dental/Vision benefits after 60 days of full-time employment
401K eligibility after 1 year of full-time employment
PTO after 1 year of full-time employment
Pay range: 45,000-90,000/year
